Technical Overview

Eterra 9 Ft. Sickle Bar Mower Head for Raptor Boom Arm The 9 ft. sickle bar mower head is the widest cut available for the Eterra Raptor Boom Arm . On long uninterrupted runs — highway shoulders, canal banks, levees, mile-long fence lines — those extra feet compound into real acres per hour. It is the production choice, and it asks for a machine and operator comfortable with the leverage. Available from Skid Steer Store . Why a Sickle Bar Instead of a Flail or Rotary Almost no thrown material — essential on highway shoulders with traffic passing. Low power draw for the width — 9 ft. of cut without needing a high-flow machine. Clean shear — healthier regrowth than shredding, which matters on managed right-of-way. Quiet — a genuine advantage on residential and park work. Cuts wet and aquatic growth — canal and shoreline vegetation that clogs a flail. Choosing Your Bar Length Head Cutting Width Trade-off 5 Ft. Sickle Bar 5 ft. Most maneuverable; slowest coverage 7 Ft. Sickle Bar 7 ft. Balanced for mixed work 9 Ft. Sickle Bar 9 ft. Highest acres per hour; most leverage at full extension A 9 ft. bar puts the most weight and leverage at the end of the boom. It rewards open ground and penalises tight, obstacle-heavy sites. Cutting Capacity Cuts grass, weeds, reeds and brush up to roughly 2" in diameter . For heavier material, look at the Sidewinder flail or Cyclone rotary heads. Requires the Raptor Boom Arm This is a mower head, not a standalone attachment . It mounts to the Eterra Raptor Boom Arm. Note that Eterra recommends the Raptor on a skid steer of at least 6,000 lbs — a point worth confirming before pairing it with the longest bar. Common Applications Highway and interstate shoulder mowing, canal and irrigation bank maintenance, levee and embankment work,
